4Deep Scopes out International waters

May 29, 2014 – Halifax, NS – Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency

With its sleek design and impressive specs, 4Deep Inwater Imaging’s submersible holographic microscope is an attractive tool for water analysis requirements across the globe.

With a concept developed in the Physics Department at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, 4Deep has gone from a proprietary algorithm to a microscope that can be submerged 6,000 metres below the ocean’s surface.

This relatively new company specializes in dynamic fluid microscopy, which is used to obtain 3D analysis of micro-organisms/particles that are difficult to study using conventional microscopy technology. 4Deep‘s submersible microscope provides real-time, continuous onsite monitoring of water quality and has the capacity to analyze minute particles and track their movement. 4Deep’s technology provides superior images faster, and can be deployed to substantially greater depths than other products currently on the market.
